NFL Signs Fairfield Athletes

After years of practice and preparation, Fairfield alumni Larry Rose III and Bryson Gates are on their way to the NFL.

Before playing for the NFL, players have to be drafted in the Annual Player Draft. If players are not drafted, they can still be invited to mini-camps or be an undrafted free-agent. With the help of recruiting coordinator Kevin McKeethan, Larry Rose III was signed as an undrafted free agent to play for the Tennessee Titans.

“Whenever your best player is a good person, good things usually happen,”  McKeethan said. “To me, that’s what is so unique about Larry Rose III.”

2014 graduate, Bryson Gates, will also play in the NFL. Gates and his teammate from Abilene Christian University, Carl Whitley, both earned mini-camp invitations. After that they were picked to finish out their careers in the NFL. Bryson will play with the Oakland Raiders this upcoming season.

“Keep faith in God, believe in yourself and never give up,” Gates said. “Follow your dreams even when they seem unrealistic!”
