The Lady Eagles will play the Westwood Panthers on Senior Night tomorrow at the Johnson Activity Center.
“Basketball has made me realize that even through rough, hard practices, there is an even greater outcome,” senior Delaney McGowan said. “I hope to inspire the next generation that you don’t have to be the best athlete, but you can be the strongest one mentally. You can be one of the hardest workers, and you can find yourself a place on the team that is super important to you and your teammates.”
Last week, the Lady Eagles defeated the Elkhart Elks with a score of 80-27. This win brought their district record up to 11-0, keeping them first in the district.
“These young ladies have been fun to work with these past few years, but watching them mature into the young ladies they are becoming is very exciting,” assistant coach Tarsha Graves said. “The best part about this group of young ladies, is they are each individually unique in their own special way. They have made this year’s journey pleasurable.”
The seven seniors that will be honored include Blayke Brackens, Kaylee Williams, Samayah Wiley, Rhett Ralstin, Delaney McGowan, Ja’Maria Bass, and Anyima Peacock. The head coach is Randy Barger and the assistant coaches are Tarsha Graves and Dennis Johnson.
“It is important for athletes to play the hardest they can every time they get a chance because you never know when your last game is going to be,” senior Blayke Brackens said. “Playing here in Fairfield has been a great experience for me due to the coaches’ effect in my life, but also the community support is like no other.”
