The Grand Band from Eagle Land will perform at the UIL State Military Marching Competition in Waco at the McLane Stadium tomorrow at 10:45 a.m.
“As a sophomore, qualifying both of my years of high school is a significant accomplishment,” sophomore squad leader Paisley Robinson. “I feel that this year we will do better than last year because we have a more entertaining show.”

The Grand Band received a 1-1-1, a perfect score at the Region Marching Contest in Troy on October 22 and earned their second State qualifying title.
“It feels good to qualify for state because our band worked so hard for this achievement,” sophomore squad leader Aaryn Morgan said. “I just hope our hard work and dedication is shown at State.”

The Grand Band, alongside eight other bands, will compete in the prelims in order to advance to the finals. The judges will announce which top five bands will proceed to the finals at 12:45 p.m.
“I hope we do well,” senior section leader Bailey Holland said. “If we place even one higher than last year, I’ll consider it a success.”
