Spring semester begins quickly for FFA students with many shows and competitions around the state.
Students have begun CDE practices, while other students have been showing their animals at the stock shows in Houston, Fort Worth, and San Antonio.
Sophomore Blake Phillips and seniors Makenna Eppes and Marissa Eppes showed their Beef Heifers on March 7 and 8 at the Houston Livestock Show. Philips placed 4th place in Class 2 ORB at the Houston Junior Heifer Show this week, while Marissa Eppes placed 8th with her Charolais heifer.
Sophomore Miley Contreras showed in the Sheep/Goat Show at the Houston Livestock Show on March 7.
Sophomore Avery Strait showed her beef cattle at San Antonio, placed 1st and Reserve Sr Division in Santa Gertrudis on February 16. She placed 1st in class and Reserve Sr Division in Santa Gertrudis.
Sophomores Brailey Keeney, Samayah Wiley, Mackenzie Allen, Cynthia Serrato, juniors Adan Espinoza, Keithan Kidd, and seniors Collin Glass and Jake White competed at the Career Development contest in Madisonville on February 14.
Sophomores Obie Crook and Avery Strait, junior Gracie Robinson, and seniors Regina Crowley and Emma White competed at the Career Development contest in Belton on February 14.
Sophomores Avery Strait and Blake Philips, junior Elizabeth Pillans, and seniors Marissa Epps and Makenna Epps showed their Beef Heifers at the Ft. Worth Stock Show on Jan. 19 and 22.
