The Band will perform their annual Christmas Concert on Monday December 11 at 7:00 p.m. The songs performed will be Cantique De Noel, Christmas At The Movies, Santa the Barbarian: Snowpocalypse, We Wish You A Klezmer Christmas, Pachelbel’s Canon, and House of the Rising Bells.
Holiday in the Halls will start Monday evening followed by the sixth grade Christmas concert then High School Christmas concert.
Band students have also been competing individually. This year four band students made All-region band; Brooke Cobb, Caris Mayer, Bailey Holland, and Itzel Rosales. Brooke Cobb and Caris Mayer also advanced to All-Area band.
“I’m excited about playing for both the Grand Band today and Jazz band tomorrow,” junior Angelina Cobb said. “I’m excited to show what we have been learning and practicing this year.”
The band will include the fan favorite Cantique De Noel and new songs Santa the Barbarian: Snowpocalypse, Christmas At The Movies, and We Wish You a Klezmer Christmas.
“I really appreciate the diversity and inclusivity with the new song choices,” senior Eashan Kalyanji said. “I think that the band directors have done a good job in picking them out.”
The seventh grade, eighth grade, and Jazz band will also have their Christmas performance Tuesday December 12 starting at 7:00 p.m.
“I’m kind of nervous for my first Christmas concert as a high school student,” freshman Antonio Jauregui said. “But, I think we were going to sound good.”
