The Recycle Club will install a second refillable water station. After receiving a grant from the Fairfield Education Foundation, the club installed the first refillable water station in the math hallway.
The refill water station will also serve as a display area for encouraging notes and important information. The Recycle club will give away reusable containers and stickers for student use.
“The Fairfield Education Foundation provides grants and opportunities for teachers and schools,” math teacher and recycling sponsor Nicole Crawford said. “Teachers just have to fill out an application and tell them what they want and how it’ll be beneficial to the school.”
The new station will be purchase with remaining grant money and Recycling club funds.
“I’ve been wanting one forever because I like to recycle and minimize my use of extra stuff,” Crawford said “reusing is what I would rather do.” The school has been trying to get the refillable water station for five years but has had some stumbling blocks.
The Fairfield Education Foundation holds yearly fundraisers in order to collect funds for educational purposes. Their next event is dueling pianos and will be held on Saturday, March 23rd. The Education Foundation is also having a gala fundraiser coming up with the theme of black and white Masquerade.
