Lady Eagles opened the season with a win against Corsicana and two days later took second place in the Fairfield Invitational. The Lady Eagles went on to begin district with a win against Palestine and continued on to win their district championship with a record of 7-1. The Lady Eagles became Bi-District Champions on November 4. The team lost to China Spring in the area round, ending their season.

“Our goal was to win district this year since we didn’t win it last year, so it was nice to be district champions,” Johnson said. “This team competed very well all year long. They were a hardworking group and fun to work with.”
The varsity team will lose 8 seniors at the end of the season, leaving only five juniors and one sophomore. Varsity ended the season with an overall record of 28-12.
“I’m excited about the team next year, “ Johnson said. “Although I am losing seniors I have five players coming back who should contribute to another successful season.”
