The Lady Eagles played Palestine here on Tuesday, beating them in three sets. All three teams will play in Rusk on Tuesday, October 16.

“We beat the Wildcats by a lot, and that kind of easy victory is so uplifting,” senior Ashlyn Partain said. “As we come closer to the end of district, I am confident that we have what it takes to excel at bi-district and anything that comes after it.”

With only only one loss, against Mexia, the JV team continued their successful season with a win against Palestine.

“I feel like the team chemistry is a lot better this year and that makes us play better,” sophomore Emily Chavers said. “We’ve done really good this season and I’m proud of our progress and how far we’ve come.”

The freshman team also won their game, securing the third volleyball win of the night.

“It feels like we’ve become a family on and off the court, and that feeling helps us play well,” freshman Jaysa Smith said. “So far we have had a pretty successful season and I look forward to our continued growth as a team.”

The Lady Eagles have a Bye on Friday, giving them a week until their next game on Tuesday.

“I’m glad we don’t have a game on Friday because it gives us time to regroup and focus in our practices,” senior Katie Judd said. “We’ve been pretty successful so far, but I think it’s important for us to not get too confident and to just play our best in future games.”
