Until Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is released to Netflix on December 9, 2022, the Italian Cartoon Cinema animation of Pinocchio is available on youtube.

 This version of  Pinocchio started as an Italian juvenile magazine under the title La Storia di un Burattino in 1881 then was turned into a book two years later called The Adventures of Pinocchio which Disney made in 1940. Finally, this movie was made in 1978.

This movie is basically all about a kid, the puppet Pinocchio, being a “bad boy” and having consequences for it. The message is … if you lie, you get a long nose, so don’t be bad and lie. Don’t run away and worry your parents, or you will starve to death. If you don’t go to school, you can become lost and almost burned in the fire. Don’t hang out with people you don’t know or trust people easily, or else they will lie and steal from you. Take your medicine or else you die. Don’t get influenced by bad people, or else they will get you in trouble. Don’t run away from going to school, or else you turn into a donkey and get sold. 

But if you don’t do any of those you turn into a good boy and become a little good boy.

This movie is like a tale of warning to  kids, much like being on the naughty list for Christmas and not getting any presents or money or things you want.

Animated movies, which people enjoy watching, are almost always famous, like the famous puppet with the long nose, Pinocchio. This movie, like many others, has many versions, each one fits more with the time period it’s in.
