Eagles Exceed Expectations

Boys’ varsity basketball will play Waco Connally tonight at Corsicana High School. The area championship game will start at 7:00 p.m..

“It’s been a great year for the Eagles,” assistant coach Philip Page said. “Being my first year here, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the boys have put in the work and it has translated through their success on the court. I am very confident in our boys and their skills.”

The boys beat Jaspar 54-49 in the bi-district round. The Eagles finished second in the district. 

“We’re working even harder,” senior Justin Abram said, “ and we are waiting to prove even more people wrong.”

So far the current predictions for the game are neutral. Connally has a higher scoring average by over 11 points according to MaxPreps. The winner of this game will compete in the regional tournament. 

“We keep our heads up and our eyes toawrd the prize,” senior boys basketball trainer Jaylon Strawther said. “ The goal is for them to stay focused and to keep the faith through it all.”
