Baseball hosted an alumni game Feb. 21 between alumni and the current baseball team.

“It was good to see all the guys that have graduated,” head coach Bill Crawford said. “I think it was a good warmup for our players this year and helped promote their competitive spirit in a fun and healthy way.”

Nine alumni players returned for the game and senior Conner Jackson played catcher on the alumni team. The players ranged from mid-forties to recent graduates.

“It was fun to come back and play a friendly game,” alumni Luke Rachel said. “That field has a lot of great memories.”

There was no set score but the varsity baseball team had a definite win. The crowd estimated the score was around 9-3.

“It was a great experience,” senior first baseman Chandler Noble said. “It was a fun way for us to start the season with excitement.”

Crawford created the alumni game to get alumni involved in the baseball program. He wanted them to see the current program and how it evolved over time.

“Fairfield has a talented team,” Rachel said, “I look forward to keeping up with them and watching them succeed.”
