Running for Class Officer requires a young mind filled with determination, courage, and dignity. During the 2024-2025 class officer elections, students casted their votes for Class Officers, Student Council Representatives, and Homecoming Court.
“I think that being a class officer gives a group of students to represent a class as a whole,” teacher Elizabeth Collier. “Also, the interest that they want to see throughout their school year.”
The freshmen class elected Mycah Smith as their President, Solomon Growden as Vice President, Aaron Evans as Treasurer, Robert Williams as Secretary, and Owen Lane as Reporter. Their student council representatives are Solomon Growden, Robert Williams, and Mariela Espinoza; also, their Homecoming Duchess is Aaliyah Nash.
“I am exceedingly honored to have been elected as class president,” Freshmen President Mycah Smith said. “I strive to take initiative, hold myself and others accountable, and sufficiently lead my class in a positive direction. I hope to have a productive and dynamic year!”
The sophomore class elected Kole Brackens as their President, Samahgia Carter as Vice President, Christian Sanchez as Treasurer, and Lily Allen as Secretary. Their student council representatives include Jhanvi Patel, Antonio Jauregui, and Kole Brackens; also, their Homecoming Duchess is Addison Shipley.
“I’m hoping my class can have a good next two years,” student council representative Jhanvi Patel said. “Where everyone tries to stay out of trouble so they can attend the school events, participate in activities, and put their education forward for their future.”
The junior class elected Callie Morgan as their President, Aiden Adams as Vice President, Mason Edwards as Treasurer, Connor Colvert as Secretary, and Haysten Kent as Reporter. Their student council representatives are Aiden Adams, Rhett Ralstin, and Laiken Carlson; also, their Homecoming Duchess is Samayah Wiley.
“I’m glad the student body enjoyed my fierce speech,” Junior President Callie Morgan said. “It is going to be so much fun planning this year’s Prom, and I hope that anyone attending the dance will enjoy it just as much.”
The senior class elected Cole Coual as their President, Jerry Draper as Vice President, Jack Savage as Treasurer, Jaci Abram as Secretary, and Suzune Awalt as Reporter. Their student council representatives are Preston Scott, Jaci Abram, and Addison Posey. The Homecoming Queen was announced on September 13 during the football game against Brownsboro; the nominees were Angelina Cobb, Emma Hill, Rylie Longer, and Addison Posey, with Angelina Cobb gaining the most votes and winning Homecoming Queen.
“I’m happy to have been elected as Vice President, ” senior class officer Jerry Draper said. “I hope to create a culture in our class [that] we’re proud to remember.”
At the end of the last school year, the students voted for their student council officers. They elected Jimilyah Nash as President, Mason Edwards as Vice President, Callie Morgan as Secretary, Nadia Hoskins as Treasurer, Carolyn Dunlap as Parliamentarian, Rylie Longer as Recorder, and Connor Colvert as Historian. The sponsors for the student council are Katie Wade and Elizabeth Collier.
