The long awaited “The Tortured Poets Department” has finally made its release on April 19th. Taylor Swift hinted the new album’s release date at the 2024 Grammy’s. She has been alluding to having been working on this album for the past two years, since 2022.
My favorite song on the album is named “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me.” The song is about her public image and perception of her celebrity persona. The whole album really captures the feeling of being isolated within the music industry and how it treats people terribly. Taylor Swift has used her voice to help gain awareness for the abuse of the celebrities in the music industry. Taylor has moved on from her forms of self-loathing in her “Midnights” album, and now has a fierce approach on the world and the people who have influenced her life the most.
Taylor swift did not only release “The Tortured Poets Department”, but she also released another album with it called the Anthology. The combined number of songs in “The Anthology” and “The Tortured Poets Department” is a total of 31.
