Twenty eight students have advanced through district and will be competing at the 3A Region 3 UIL Academic Meet in Brenham this Saturday. FHS placed first as a school at the district meet with a total of 539 points.
The events include Accounting, Calculator Application, Computer Application, Computer Science, Copy Editing, Editorial Writing, Headline Writing, Literary Criticism, Spelling, Mathematics, Number Sense, Science, and Licoln-Douglas Debate. Eight out of the thirteen events had first place teams, meaning that the members on each team advance as a group.
The students that will be advancing are freshmen Adalyn Peterson in Headline Writing, Noah Hoskins in Mathematics and Science, Tevin Eam in Spelling, Anna Moyer in Literary Criticism and Copy Editing, and Yahir Yepez in Spelling; sophomores Aiden Adams in Computer Application, Connor Colvert in Number Sense, Gage Wendt in Number Sense, Mason Edwards in Mathematics, Laiken Carlson in Science, Callie Morgan in Headline Writing, and Obie Crook in Number Sense; juniors Luke Cruce in Compuer Science and Mathematics, Newton Hartley in Computer Science and Mathematics, Carolyn Dunlap in Editorial Writing, Lydia Morgan in Literary Criticism and Science, Kynzee Payne in Literary Criticism, Tiffany Jauregui in Literary Criticism, Alfonso Rodriguez in Mathematics, Austin Smith in Spelling, Brayden Haley in Science, Claire Guillote in Licoln-Douglas Debate, and Preston Scott in Accounting, Computer Applications, and Computer Science; and seniors Avery Thaler in Calculator Application, Madysen Farris in Spelling, Cooper Craddick in Accounting, Avie Robinson in Accounting, and Eashan Kalyanji in Accounting, Computer Applications, and Computer Science.
