Twenty one girls will be members of the 2024-2025 cheer teams, 15 varsity and 6 junior varsity, after completing tryouts on March 27.
“I enjoy being the cheer coach,” cheer coach Rebecca Watson said. “I enjoy the challenge every year brings, and I also enjoy seeing the athletes improve and become leaders each and every year. I am excited about the upcoming cheer season.”
The varsity team consists of upcoming senior captains Addison Bailes and Carolyn Dunlap, upcoming seniors Rylie Longer, Alexis Woodruff, and Reese White, upcoming juniors Jaylin Flowers, Lyndsey Long, Mackenzie Allen, mascot Rainy Bonds, and Sara Magourik, and upcoming sophomores Reese beaver, Ryleigh lane, Addison Shipley, Cadence Webster, and Riley Stone.
“I feel really happy and excited to be captain,” Bailes said. “I think that the upcoming year is going to be great!”
The new junior varsity team includes incoming freshmen Shaylin Barker, Madison High, Hadlie Morrison, Mycah Smith, and Rylie Swinson and captain Taylor Solis.
“I felt excited that I was given the opportunity to do what I love and lead a team of talented girls,” Solis said. “I feel like it is going to be a great year, we have some amazing girls on this squad and each girl brings something special to the team.”
