Even though it seems as though the 2nd semester has just begun, spring break just around the corner. For several families, spring break is a chance to catch up on cleaning or spend time with family. Though, for others it’s a quick vacation before having to return to school or work life. Although some households have already had their spring break trip planned out in advance, others are still determining where to go. Here are some underrated vacation ideas right here in Texas.
The first place is the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. It is the largest aquarium in Texas with a great amount of diverse wildlife. They have crocodiles, sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, and colorful fish. There are many attractions as well including the otter creek, the raptor show, and the world-famous dolphin show. The aquarium opens at 10 AM and closes at 5 PM from Tuesday through Sunday. Adult tickets cost $36.95, $19.95 for children ages 3-12, and kids 2 and younger are granted free. Though the trip takes about five hours, it is definitely worth the experience and memories.
The second place is Port Aransas on Mustang Island. Port Aransas is a vintage beach town with a tropical vibe and beautiful beaches. There are many things to do such as water sports, fishing trips, and dinners at delicious seafood restaurants. They also have other attractions such as the ferry system, the Mustang Island State Park, the museums, and of course the beach. It is an adventure-packed trip for the whole family and is worth the five hour drive as well.
The third place is the River Walk in San Antonio. The River Walk has many attractions including the Alamo, La Villita Historic Village, and the San Antonio River Cruises. There are many tasty restaurants, historical art museums, gardens, and parks. There is also the San Antonio Zoo, Legoland, and the SEA LIFE aquarium. With all of these options, there is no room for boredom here. Not only is this trip shorter by two hours, but it is definitely the most activity-packed for the whole family.
With all of the choices available, hopefully one of them influences a fun spring break for the entire family. Overall, just make sure to enjoy this calming break.
