For some, the week leading up to Christmas break is a countdown from their typical hectic lifestyle to two weeks of peace. However, for students it’s a nightmare full of stressful tests, lengthy nights, and less sleep. Luckily, by preparing ahead for the week, this scenario can be avoided.
In contrast to ordinary tests, semester exams typically consist of more than 100 questions and allow two hours to complete them. As a result, students must step-up their study techniques rather than using their usual methods.
So how do students study for these exams? As a review, classes normally hand out thick packets including all of the material from the semester. While these might take a long time to finish they are very helpful when it comes to the exam. On the other hand, some classes offer nothing at all; therefore, students need to reread previous assignments and notes in order to pass the exam for these classes.
Students also prepare for the exams by making healthy decisions. This includes getting at least 8 hours of sleep, staying hydrated, eating a good breakfast, and making sure to take breaks by doing something you love. It’s important to really try and take care of yourself during exam week so that you feel your absolute best during the exams.
In the end, while semester exams can be stressful, preparing for them doesn’t have to be. They might seem difficult but when you break them down, it’s just everything you learned before.
