The Eagles (1-5) will play Mexia (1-5) at Eagle Field tomorrow night at the annual Pink Out game.
We have hit the part of the season that matters,” athletic director John Bacthel said. “The early games have prepared us to do battle against Mexia, Groesbeck, Kemp and Teague. We will have to play with great energy and focus to make a playoff run.¨
The Eagles started district play against Eustace, winning 67-6.
¨We’ve played a tough couple of teams, but we’re to the point in the season where we have to string together some wins,” senior Cameron Cockerell said. “We have put in a great week of practice and are prepared for whatever Mexia has for us.¨
The Eagles started the season playing competitive non-district teams.
“The season started with playing 4A schools who are pretty good football teams,” Bachtel said. “We have competed like champions each week. I believe our seniors have provided the team great leadership each day whether it be at practice or in the hallways at school.”
