The cross country will compete in Fairfield at the annual Gold Eagle run on September 30 in preparation for the District meet in Fairfield on October 9.
“I am really excited about the meet about Ennis,” coach Tarsha Graves said. “[I hope for the teams] to advance as far as they can.”
The teams have had four previous meets since August. At the Eustes High School meet on September 23, the Jv girls placed second.
I feel like it’s a great opportunity for the whole team and for us as individuals,” junior Zada Pjetrovic said. “We’ve been performing very well the past few meets, and I have lots of confidence in us.”
At the Ennis High School meet on September 16, the JV girls placed first as a team.
“JV Girl did very well,” Graves said. “All of their times dropped. JV girls won first and did very well motivating one another. The Varsity boys did very well. All of their times dropped and JV boys did very well.”
At the McGregor meet on September 2, the varsity girls placed eighth overall, JV girls placed first overall with seven girls in the top 15, and varsity boys placed 7th overall.
“Since I started cross country my sophomore year,” Pjetrovic said, “my goal has always been to drop my times and keep pushing myself no matter how tired I feel.”
