The Grand Band from Eagle Land is raising money to travel to Florida for their Disney trip on Spring break from March 11 to 16. The band only goes on their Disney trip every four years.

The band would have over $100,000 more in their funds to avoid students having to pay this year. The 120 Students will have to pay $750 each to go this year.

“Due to Covid, we lost two years of fundraising,” band director Russell Holland said. “The funding has been a struggle, but we are finally able to go.”

Students are doing fundraisers as they urgently need the money to pay for their trip.

“I sold the most chocolates to help the band with their financial struggles,” freshman Callie Morgan said. “Raising the most money brought me a lot of pride.”

To go on the trip, the band has been selling chocolate, cookies, and candles for the past four years to earn as much money as possible to travel comfortably and safely. Selling chocolates is a large portion of the band’s funding for the past two years.

“I would like to give a thanks to the band boosters,” Holland said. “They have been amazing in helping with the funds to even think about going on this trip.”
