The Eagles take on the Athens Hornets on home turf next Friday, after a bumpy start to the season including one loss and one cancelled game. Lasts week’s home game against the Rusk Eagles ended in a loss of 14-42.

Tonight’s game against Brownsboro, which should have been the second game, was cancelled due to a reported case of coronavirus. After further investigation and review, it was found that the positive COVID case reported was miscommunicated. There is no confirmed case at this time, and those with possible exposure are being quarantined.

“Early on it can be a struggle because the boys are getting used to working as one unit,”  Coach Ballew said, “but we will get a hold of it and be good.”

Seating is limited, and school administrators remind spectators of the importance of masks and social distancing to the full six feet.

“This season is unique because of all the extra precautions the boys and staff have to make,” Coach Braswell said, “but that isn’t going to stop us.”

Tickets will go on sale next week for 5 dollars each and must be purchased before the game. No tickets will be sold at the gate.
